Upon graduation from the Thunderbird Graduate School of Global Management, Mr. Brenteson joined a Fortune 500 chemical company. After managing sales in Central America and the Caribbean for two years he was named General Manager of the company’s manufacturing subsidiary in Colombia, based in Bogota. In addition to his responsibilities in Colombia he was later named General Manager of the Andean Group including Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru. Subsequently, he was named Corporate Vice President in charge of all the Company’s operations in Latin America and the Caribbean based in Miami. He oversaw the installation of chemical production plants in several countries and the growth of the company’s business by ten fold over the five years he led this division.
Mr. Brenteson resigned from the Fortune 500 Company to pursue personal business interests. He developed an export-import business out of Miami, a vegetable oil refinery and sales in Central America and off-season fruit production operations in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic (a joint venture with the European Common Market). He eventually sold these ventures to spend more time with his family in Miami.
After serving for many years on the Board of Directors of Baptist Health South Florida, a large, not for profit, seven hospital medical care provider, Mr. Brenteson was asked to form an International Division of the organization to grow the international patient business. He and the team assembled and developed the international patient business from over 100 different countries and established BHSF as one of the leading international patient operations in the world. He recently retired from Baptist Health but remains as a consultant with the title of International Ambassador.
Since Mr. Brenteson’s retirement he has been pursuing his passion for good nutrition. He established a company called Scientific Nutrition with the goal of producing a healthy fast food for “people on the go” with balanced nutrition and “All Good Stuff” and “No Bad Stuff” ingredients.
